In recent days the regulator has confirmed that an initial pilot was successful and that it would be sending a survey to all 31,000 firms that hold a credit broking permission. The regulator is seeking to use the survey to gain an updated view of whether and how firms are using the permission and also help with its work on mitigating the risks of consumer harm.
The FCA has now completed a pilot survey, of 300 firms, finished earlier this month. As planned, the survey will now be sent to all relevant remaining firms. Whilst the FCA is not mandating the survey be completed, it does expect firms to respond. SAF using firms are encouraged to complete the questionnaire. Further information is provided here.
